WND Columnist Agitates Against Iran
Marziyeh Amirizadeh has been pushing for regime change in Iran and advocating for the son of the ousted shah to return -- which apparently qualifies her to be a columnist at WorldNetDaily.
Marziyeh Amirizadeh’s main claim to fame is having converted to Christianity in Iran, which earned her a prison sentence. After her release, she fled to the United States, where she ran for the Georgia legislature (as a Republican, natch), where she lost badly. You will not be surprised to learn that this record of activism qualified Amirizadeh to be a WorldNetDaily columnist. Her first column, in June 2024, was used for a fit of Obama Derangement Syndrome:
June 12 marks the 15th anniversary of the 2009 Iranian Green Movement, a massive wave of peaceful protests across Iran triggered by the fraudulent results of the election that took place then, returning Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to the presidency. I watched the protests unfolding against the Islamic regime from my cell in Tehran’s notorious Evin prison where I had been arrested and sentenced to death for the “crime” of converting to Christianity, what the Islamic regimes calls “apostasy.”
The Green Movement was the largest protest in Iran since the 1979 Islamic revolution. Some 3 million peaceful demonstrators flooded the streets of Tehran and cities across Iran, about 4 percent of Iran’s population.

When the Islamic regime turned the peaceful protests into a bloodbath, the Iranian people begged for help from the United States. They were chanting, “Obama are you with us or with them?” “Obama” in Farsi means, “He is with us” [O (he) ba (with) ma (us)]. Despite people’s pleas, Obama showed his true face and stood with the criminal Islamic regime. He not only turned his back on the Iranian people who were fighting for their freedom, and the greatest opportunity to end the murderous Islamic regime, but he later made the worst deal in history with Iran (JCPOA), emboldening the regime, setting a path for Iran to acquire nuclear weapons and sending billions of dollars into the coffers of the criminal mullahs. This was used to further suppress the Iranian people, and to fund and expand terrorism across the Middle East.
The Iranian people will never forget Barack Obama’s betrayal. Now, 15 years later, Obama’s protégé is also guilty of betraying the Iranian people. President Biden has also provided billions of dollars to the regime, abdicated responsibility and the opportunity to bring down the regime after 2022 protests following the murder of Mahsa Amini, and the regime’s brutal response, and has brought the world to the brink of an Iranian nuclear weapon.
The following month, Amirizadeh raged at Kamala Harris:
Amid the Democratic National Convention taking place in Chicago, there’s legitimate excitement seeing a woman heading a major political party’s ticket this year. Women are being encouraged to vote for Kamala Harris as a woman. But as a Christian, Iranian American woman, I will not be voting for Kamala because she represents exactly the values that endanger women in the Middle East and around the world. And neither should you.

Because I love America, it’s urgent to warn Americans about the importance of preserving our freedoms and values, and exposing the lies of the Islamic regime’s agents in our midst, especially those embraced by people like Kamala.
Too many times, I have seen Kamala speaking at events standing next to and being embraced by well-known agents of the Islamic regime. Any average Iranian knows the truth that Americans who support Kamala must know: These agents pose a huge threat to America and the world, and of course women.
Through these events, and her actions and record, Kamala clearly supports the National Iranian American Council (NIAC), hated by Iranians because of its treason to their own people.
As a woman, how can Kamala be so indifferent to the suffering of Iranian women who have been persecuted, abused and murdered because of not having a proper Islamic hijab or not being subservient to men.
In fact, Harris had no connection with NIAC, though her campaign’s national security adviser was suspected of ties to it, even though she had previously been cleared work in previous positions at NATO and the Rand Corporation. Still, Amirizadeh continued to rage:
In a candid moment, Kamala described herself aptly. “As a woman there is a balance to be struck between being tough and being a bitch,” followed by her hysterical laughter. I appreciate her moment of honesty – because only a bitch is able to betray millions of oppressed women and stand with the enemies of her own country.
Women, and anyone who cares about our Judeo-Christian values, would be foolish to vote for her.
America needs a strong leader who will fight for America, its core values on the right side of history, and to preserve our future. Kamala Harris is not that person.
May God save our country from incompetent leaders whose eyes are only set on the worldly throne but not God’s kingdom.
Amirizadeh used a September 2024 column to rant about Gaza:
The solution for peace in Gaza is not negotiating with the terrorists, but to cut off the head of the octopus in Iran, and to eliminate its terrorist tentacles in Gaza, Lebanon, Yemen and around the world.
In Gaza, the idea of a two-state solution is suicidal. It has failed many times. As many times as Israel has accepted this idea, Hamas and other Islamic terrorists have rejected it. After the savage Hamas terrorist attack on Oct. 7, 2023, Israel cannot be fooled to believe what the terrorists have promised all along: that their goal is to annihilate Israel, not live peacefully with Israel.
In Middle Eastern culture, negotiating with terrorists shows weakness and emboldens them. This is the case with the Islamic Republic regime, the biggest supporter of global terror. Enabling the terrorists from Tehran to Gaza will only lead to more loss of lives of innocent Israelis.
Her solution is to treat Muslims as subjects, not participants, and for Chistians to take over the process:
The Solution for Peace in Gaza calls for hundreds of thousands of Christians to make a personal investment to rebuild and rehabilitate Gaza entirely. By showing the love of Jesus, we can combat a dangerous and self-destructive ideology they have embraced, and truly achieve peace. Rather than forcing Israel into a situation of creating another terrorist state on its narrow borders, for actual peace and long-term prosperity of Palestinian Arabs in Gaza and Israelis alike, the Solution for Peace in Gaza is the only answer.
Christians who revere the God of Israel must commit to get involved in the future of rebuilding Gaza alongside Israel. World leaders who say they want Palestinians in Gaza to live in peace must adopt this Solution for Peace in Gaza as the only one that can work.

Amirizadeh spent a January 2025 column agitating for regime change in Iran:
The world must understand that there can be no peace as long as the Islamic regime in Iran is in power and keeps supporting, brainwashing and fueling Palestinian Arabs and Muslims around the world with anti-Semitism. There can be no peace as long as radical Muslims seek the annihilation of Israel and extermination of Jews. Any kind of deal with terrorists shows weakness, empowers the enemy and rewards their evil behavior. That means enabling a genocidal enemy to regroup, rearm and reemerge.
Unfortunately, most Americans think that the war in Israel is only over the division of land between Jews and Arabs, and America is not in the cross-hairs – but the root of this radicalism, as we saw in New Orleans on Jan. 1, is in Islamic teaching. Sadly, many in America do not take the Islamic world and their goal in establishing a global caliphate seriously.
We must stand with Israel at this time of tension and trauma, and reinforce our own values to protect America and the West from the expansionist tentacles of the Islamic regime octopus. Unfortunately, I know from firsthand experience, and this truth cannot be overstated.
In a June 2025 column, Amirizadeh insisted that most Iranians supported Israel’s attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities:
The situation in Iran is dire amid Israel’s military operations targeting the Islamic Republic’s leadership, IRGC facilities and nuclear sites. Israel’s actions follow warnings to evacuate Tehran, prompting mass exodus. However, fuel shortages (limited to 15 liters per car daily), bank withdrawal restrictions (equivalent to $3 daily), inflation and a failing economy, and internet shutdowns have trapped many. The regime’s Basij forces block escape routes, and there are no bomb shelters or warning sirens, leaving civilians vulnerable. There are also reports that the IRGC has bombed civilian buildings to blame Israel, aiming to garner international sympathy.
Despite these hardships, Iranians support Israel’s actions, viewing them as a potential catalyst for regime collapse. Public celebrations have followed the elimination of IRGC leaders. It’s critical to note that the cumulative death toll from Israel’s strikes pales in comparison to the regime’s killing of thousands of Iranians during public protests mentioned above. The regime has intensified repression, arresting suspected Israel supporters and expediting executions to instill fear. The destruction of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), described as a propaganda mouthpiece of the regime, and staffed by prison interrogators, was met with public mockery and celebration.
The very fact that Iranians are demonstrating against the regime, celebrating Israel’s military successes and other acts of civil disobedience are noteworthy because they also risk having those doing so becoming the regime’s next victims.
She then asserted that a exiled monarch is the best person to lead Iran:
Iranians’ primary wish is for a democratic government that restores freedom and dignity. They seek to rekindle ties with the United States and Israel, distancing themselves from the regime’s terrorist label. Prince Reza Pahlavi is the only legitimate opposition and best leader for Iran’s future. He is widely supported in the growing protests. Rather than “making a deal” with the regime that will strengthen the ayatollah’s rule, such as the 2015 JCPOA that funds it, if America wants true peace, it can only be achieved with a free Iran.
We’ve noted how Pahlavi is clinging to reflected right-wing Trump glory in order to claim legitimacy.
raged against a United Nations speech by the president of Iran in an October 2025 column, again rooting for regime change:
Watching Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian address the United Nations General Assembly was not only nauseating but also infuriating for millions of Iranians. To hear a man with the blood of countless citizens on his hands lecture the world about human rights, equality and the rights of Gaza’s children is nothing short of grotesque hypocrisy.
If the U.N. were to replace its teleprompters with lie detectors when Iranian envoys speak, the results would shock the world. These representatives of the Islamic Republic do not come to promote peace or truth – they come to distort reality, present themselves as victims and whitewash their crimes to fool the world.

For more than four decades, the Islamic Republic has terrorized its own people, destabilized the region and deceived the international community. Its leaders pose as defenders of justice while committing atrocities at home and abroad. When Pezeshkian holds up pictures of Gaza’s children, the world should remember the thousands of Iranian children whose lives were stolen by the same regime.
The Iranian people reject this tyranny. They long for freedom, justice and peace – not the lies and oppression of men who masquerade as statesmen while behaving like criminals. It is time for the international community to stop being fooled, stop giving the Islamic Republic any platform to spread its extremist ideology and propaganda, and instead hold it accountable for its crimes against humanity.
How is this different from Pahlavi? She doesn’t explain.
Amirizadeh railed against supposedly fake fellow activists in a Dec. 16 column:
Iranians know the tactics of the fake reformists, and started chanting “Death to Khamenei,” “Death to the Islamic regime,” “King Reza Pahlavi our national leader,” “Our last battle, Pahlavi will return,” “Death to three corrupt leftists, Mullahs (Ayatollahs), Leftists (Reformists) and Mujahed (MEK group),” all to prevent Mohammadi, a prominent puppet of the fake reformists, from speaking, throwing stones at her head.
Iranians shared many social media videos showing people defiantly chanted in support of Prince Pahlavi. Iranians have been awakened to the truth and do not allow fake reformists to deceive them through their puppets inside and outside the country anymore.
Iranians are becoming more bold in condemnation of the fake opposition and in support of Prince Pahlavi who is viewed as the true opposition, supported by millions of Iranians.
We’ve noted how Amirizadeh is a big fan of Pahlavi — the son of the former Shah of Iran — though he largely trades in pro-Trump platitudes. She went on to complain:
There are many prominent fake reformists such as MEK, Narges Mohammdi, Nasrin Sotodeh, Sepideh Gholian, Masih Alinezhad and Mostafa Tajer Zadeh who have a long history of supporting and standing with their oppressors.
WND has a complicated history with MEK, originally denouncing it before supporting it. Looks like Amirizadeh has taken it back toward denouncing it again. She then lashed out at an another activist:
Proving that Narges Mohammadi is a leader of the fake opposition, albeit she has received the Nobel Peace Prize, she gave an interview to Angelina Jolie from within Evin prison along with CNN and other Western media. There is no remote possibility that an actual political prisoner would be treated so leniently in Evin prison, much less permitted to give interviews from within prison. Outside prison, Iranians hardly have access to the internet, and the regime monitors any conversations.
Having spent nine months in Evin prison myself, receiving a death sentence because of my faith in Jesus, I know the truth about the fake opposition. I had no access to the phone to call even my family and let them know that I was in prison for the first few months. Actual prisoners could hardly contact anyone outside prison, a limited “privilege” that authorities monitor.
Not only is Mohammadi not legitimate opposition, she is a prop to support the regime and plays her role shamelessly.
Amirizadeh went on to attack MEK further in her Jan. 15 column:
One prominent fake opposition group outside Iran is the National Council of Resistance of Iran, NCRI, also known as Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK). In 1979 they opposed Shah Mohamad Reza Pahlavi and supported the Muslim extremist Ayatollah Khomeini. MEK supported Khomeini’s massive purge and killing of Iranians as they consolidated power and controlled through fear, intimidation and mandating strict Islamic extremism.
Because of disagreements over sharing power, something Islamist tyrants will never do, MEK leaders were forced to flee Iran and created an armed opposition army against the Islamic regime. NCRI/MEK share part of the same radical Islamic ideology as the regime but mix their Islamic extremism with Marxism.
NCRI/MEK will have you believe that they are for a free Iran, but all they want to do is oppress Iranians under a different brand. Their goal to overthrow the current Islamic regime is not a recipe for freedom, but for disaster under a different hijab.
It’s noteworthy and horrific that in the 1980s, during the bloody Iran-Iraq war, MEK joined Sadam Hussein in killing innocent Iranian civilians, something they considered a legitimate means to an end to attempt to unseat Khomeini. With the blood of tens of thousands of Iranians on their hands, Iranians know that MEK is only out for its own interests, not for the well-being of the Iranian people.
MEK also has the blood of many Americans on their hands through the assassination of US military personnel and contractors throughout the 1970s. In 1997 the U.S. State Department designated MEK as terrorist organization. The European Union put MEK on its terrorists list in 2002. Inconceivably, despite countless horrible videos and documentation of their crimes, the EU and the U.S. removed the MEK from their list of terrorist organizations in 2009 and 2012, respectively. Iranians know the truth and express this widely using #MEKterrorists.
Iranians hate MEK and other such fake opposition and reformist groups because of their treason. They have no public support inside Iran. This is widely documented. Today, when Iranians say they prefer the ayatollahs to the MEK, it does not mean the ayatollahs are better, but to show their level of their contempt for the MEK.
Amirizadeh mostly raged at MEK because it spoke out against Pahlavi:
MEK members reflexively speak out against the Pahlavi dynasty and the idea of Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi returning. They have a famous slogan: “We want neither a king nor a leader (referring to Ayatollah Khamenei), Curse to both tyrants.” This is the common slogan is used both by MEK and exported agents of the regime to deceive the world that the shah was a tyrant, a fascist they will say, and that is why they should not support his son. They will make up other absurd lies to defame Shah Mohamed Reza Pahlavi and discredit his son, even stating as fact that the videos of Iranians calling for Reza Pahlavi to return are “fake.” As soon as you hear that, run from them. There are thousands of videos circulating demonstrating that Crown Prince Pahlavi is who the Iranians want to return and restore Iran.
MEK and other fake opposition and reformists know the truth that the majority of Iranians support Prince Pahlavi because of the great work of his father and grandfather in Iran. That’s why they are working so frantically to make people believe its not true. Iranians understand their mistake by not supporting the Shah in 1979, and the consequences of not appreciating the freedoms and quality of life that they had. That is why in most of their protests they chant “Reza Shah, Bless your soul,” to defeat the deception that is promoted by MEK and other fake opposition and reformists.
So, “great work” like opening fire on a group of protesters, killing dozens? Amirizadeh seems not to understand events like this led to the Shah’s overthrow. Still, she whined:
This week we mark the 47th anniversary of Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi being forced to flee Iran with his family due to President Carter and other Western leaders withdrawing their support. This created the vacuum and paved the road for Ayatollah Khomeini to return, to purge anyone who he viewed as an enemy, impose strict radical Islam and begin the process of hijacking the country.
Endless evil and suffering has resulted in Iran and around the world. Iranians have taken to the streets calling for the end of the regime, the return of Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi and begging the world to help them overthrow their oppressors. Iranians have made it clear that the fake opposition and reformists as represented by NCRI/MEK and others are not acceptable or viable.
Amirizadeh appears to have forgotten that the shah seized power in a U.S.-backed coup, then devolved into an authoritarian regime. Is that what she wants now?
